Synopsis: After being pressured by the principal to win the one-act play competition trophy, the local high school drama teacher studied the winning plays of the last ten years and came up with a list of qualities the judges want to see in a one-act play. She believes the play must be a fresh, modern, classical, tragedy, with cute girls. But above all, it must be extremely dramatic, with crying and screaming and absolutely no comedy! So, over summer vacation she wrote her own one-act, incorporating all of these elements and believes that she has come up with the perfect winning play. However, her student-actors have their own ideas of what the perfect play should be like. Among other mishaps, the actress playing the bad guy memorizes her blocking backwards, the side kick decides to chop onions on stage to make himself cry dramatically, the grim reaper costume is switched with a Tinkerbell costume, and one stage-frightened actor replaces himself with a puppet, changing this fresh, modern, classical, tragedy into the director’s real-life tragedy.
